You must try the daily coastal fish in Les Cases d’Alcanar or the truly Red Tuna from l’Ametlla de Mar. Do you want to enjoy life? Ask for flamed prawns!

Delta rice is a hidden pearl you can’t miss, really. You will taste it from Amposta to Sant Mateu with a wide range of tastes. With fish, shellfish, eels, duck, rabbit (yes, delicious), poultry or game meat. Have you ever tasted Blue Crab rice?. Find out the village with your preferred speciality.

Our precious secret, the soul of this land, you will find locked in a bottle. I’m talking about Extra Virgin Olive Oil raised on millenary olive trees. This land has the largest concentration of millenary olive trees in the world. Huge twisted trunks of majestic trees which are still in olive production. Will be easy to find, it’s daily used, but try with local producers to buy it. It’s an endemic variety of olives, the Farga Olive which makes a fresh, sweet and intense green olive flavour.

Do not leave without trying the pastissets de cabell d’àngel (pumpkin jam sweets) or baldanes (blood and rice sausage).
